OPPORTUNITY DESCRIPTION

The position of Tax Practitioner entails a five-month training program. The training program begins August 1st through December 31^st.  All the training courses and exams can be completed at their leisure. During this rigorous training they will learn everything from ethics, tax laws and updates, processing tax returns. They will have access to practice returns, and endless resources to enhance their knowledge and prepare them for the next step. All course work must be completed and submitted no later than December 31^st in order to take part in the upcoming tax season.

Upon successful completion of the online training, the trainee will be ready to begin tax processing.  The tax seasons spans from January 1-April 30. During this time, the trainee will be a 1099 contractor and paid on a commission only basis, with the opportunity for bonuses. The Tax Practitioner will work with a Manager of Tax Processing to complete the first 10 tax returns. After processing the first 10 returns, the trainee receives a free laptop, scanner, and cell phone. Each Tax Practitioner will have the opportunity to make and accept client appointments on their own flexible schedule. At the end of the tax season, once all tax-processing requirements have been met, the Tax Practitioner has the opportunity to transition from a contractor to a full time employee. At this point the position transitions from a contractor to a full time employee receiving a full benefit package and an annual salary of ______________.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Tax Practitioner will report directly to the Manager of Tax Processing will be responsible for communicating with clients about the tax preparation process, setting appointments and assisting with tax preparation and filing.

• Advise clients in the tax preparation process and prepare and file tax documents
• Take incoming calls from clients to answer tax questions and set up tax preparation appointments.
• Ensure the confidentiality of each client by following all company procedures regarding information handling.
• Grow the business by promoting our services and expanding our client base.
• Attend to the needs of clients to inspire them to refer the service and come back the following year.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelors’ Degree in Accounting or Finance or related field is preferred but not required
• Experience working in a commission only environment
• Excellent customer service skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in MS Office.
